Pontera
Pontera is a specialized platform that facilitates advisor-directed oversight of held-away defined contribution plans, including 401(k) accounts, within a coordinated investment strategy.
Historically, these assets were siloed from discretionary management due to custodial and plan-level constraints. As a result, portfolio construction and risk management were often fragmented across account types. This capability allows us to incorporate 401(k) holdings into overall asset allocation, factor exposures, and rebalancing protocols—enhancing consistency at the total portfolio level.
From an implementation perspective, Pontera provides advisors with limited, trade-level access without custody, withdrawal authority, or asset movement capabilities, preserving client control while enabling advisor execution within predefined parameters. The platform is aligned with institutional-grade security protocols and undergoes annual independent audits by Ernst & Young.
This structure allows for more precise risk budgeting across public-market exposures, improved alignment with long-term strategic allocations, and reduced drift between qualified and non-qualified assets, particularly during periods of elevated volatility.
We would be pleased to provide details regarding operational mechanics, governance, and security, as well as how this capability may fit within your existing balance sheet and investment structure.

A PCRA permits access to a spectrum of securities—including stocks, ETFs, mutual funds, and fixed income—while retaining the tax advantages and structure of your retirement plan. It is designed to enable greater control, diversification, and customization in managing your retirement assets through your trusted independent advisor.
